The story set in Chinatown of 1960s Bangkok, the story follows the struggles of Chinese locals who are skilled in martial arts. In the 1930s, Bou Ching Wan's family came to Bangkok's Chinatown. Crimes were rampant but his father Bou Tin Ha fought back alongside Lin Zaan Saan and Lo Heung Dung. Bou Tin Ha unexpectedly attack his friend Lin Zaan Saan during chaos, and both died in a tragedy. This mystery remain unsolved for 25 years. Ching wan's younger siblings suddenly go missing and his mother goes mad.
Twenty-five years later, Bou ching wan and his mother came back to Chinatown in search for his missing brother and sister. He meet Lin Gik, a corrupt police officer which is son of Lin Zaan Saan. He also meet new friend, Chin Chin and Ah Gat.
The story for first 15 episodes mainly focus on feud between two biggest gangs in Chinatown, Gam Lung and Paan Gin. many characters introduced and many fights and collision between the two gangs occured. Bo ching wan creat a society named ' Overseas Chinese Association' to fight for peace and defend themselves against gangsters. Gam lung family was killed leaving only Gam Fuk Mui (Ealine Yiu) and Gam Yiu Lung (pierre ngo)
episodes 16-20+ mainy focus on Paang Gin and his wife which found out that Paang GIn has extramarital affairs. His wife want to take revenge on Paang Gin , aided by a mysterious mastermind. at this time, Bo Ching wan and Lin Gik have become friend and looking for a mystery behind the occurence 25 years ago. Chin chin also having nightmare every night, which she dreams of killing people.
The last 7 episodes is the climax of the story, the reveal of the mysterious mastermind. the nightmare of chin chin, the msytery of 25 years ago and the main antagonists revealed.
Characters
Bo Ching wan (ruco chan) - the son of Bou tin ha. He wants to seek the truth about 25 years ago. He also feeling guilty of leaving his brother and sister 25 years ago. He is a true justice fighter. Ruco chan done great as usual, however, i cant help but feeling puzzled that his body built is not that muscular compare to Joel Chan and Philip Ng eventhough he is the main character. It is better for him to fight with his shirt on. lol.
Lin Gik (Joel Chan) - very mysterious character at the start of the story. his character is in the middle between good and bad person. However, it is revealed that he actually pretend to be a bad person to become police chief so that he can control the corrupt police. Joel chan is always very good . i have been a fan of him since 2010.
Chin Cin (natalie tong) - very happy go lucky and cheerful. He loved bo ching wan so much. Her character sometimes a bit over exaggerate but still can tolerate. Her chracter become more serious and more prominent during the last 15 episodes since her nightmare occurence.
Gam Fuk Mui (Elaine Yiu) -daughter of Gam Lung. She was born into a family of gangster, so she have no choice. She tried to correct her family several times but failed. She in love with Lin Gik, but after her family was killed, she found out that Lin Gik just using her to take revenge on Gam family. It takes a long time for her to accept Lin Gik again.
Bo ching sam (grace wong) - a woman who initally married son of Paang Gin, later revealed that she actually want to destroy the family. Later it was found out that she is the lost sister of Bo Ching Wan. HOwever, the relation is more complicated than u think
Love story
Bo Ching Wan and Chin Chin is a loving pair. However, i think Ruco Chan and Natalie Tong doesnt have chemistry that i want. I think they are not very compatible to act as a couple.
Lin Gik on the other hands, have nice chemistry with Gam Fuk Mui. I like this pair better.
Ending
The surpised villains was defeated by combination of Bo CHing Wan and Chin Chin.
Bo ching wan suffered severe heart injury because of overuse his body to defeat he villain.
It is a bittersweet ending. Because Bo ching wan finally found Chin chin, however, the last scene portrayed that bo ching wan presumably died, in Chin chin arm's because of comlication of heeart injury.
Verdict
- This drama theme is same as another one acted by Ruco Chan ' A fist whitin four walls' . most of the cast also the same. Just another storyline. Personally, i think a fist within four walls better than this one.
- This drama quite predictable. It is easy to guess what will happen and what is the characters will do. especially the first 20 episodes.
- The story only gets ineteresting and unpredictable on episodes 20+ to the end.
- The collision between two gangs in the town initally interesting but losing interest bcasue it drags until episode 15
- The surprised antagonist and the plot twist on last 10 episodes is good
- The fighting scene is very good. almost all characters can fight. lol
personally i will rate 7.5/10
